The Lab upgrade enables you to tag a time range as an experiment. For example, if you want to see if weight exercising in the evening affects your ketosis levels the next day. Then you could create an experiment called "Weight exercising", and set the start and end date to range a week or two. In the lab view, you can then easily access the chart for this experiment to view your outcome of it.

Another example of usage is that you create an experiment when you do a work trip. During the work trip, eating low-carb/ketogenic could be a challenge. Annotating your experiment is also part of the upgrade.
